I think video can be a very effective way of communicating authenticity, and it can keep visitors on your page longer, giving them time to digest your message. I’ve seen a few studies done where having the video start automatically upon page load was actually detrimental to the conversion rate. It’s a fairly well established usability principle to allow people to engage the video themselves, rather than forcing it on them. So my suggestion would be to make it obvious that it’s a video, but don’t set it to autoplay. Again, this is a perfect scenario for testing if you acquire this capability at some point.

Thanks for the great suggestions. I think that you are right that after a good first impression there are a lot of thing that I need to modify for the landing page to be more effective.
