  35. Hi there.I have beensearching for someone to handle the marketing for my funiture retail store, specifically online marketing. I am no expert with computers, and I need someone to take over form me and give my small business more attention than it has been recieving. After a terrible experience with R&A marketing, it is important to me that I find someone who will not waste my time and money.. I met the owner of Entropy recently and have taken them up to handle my marketing. So far the results have been outstanding, and they actually pick up the phone when I call (imagine that). http://entropyprofitsystems.com/ . So far they have gone out and created countless accounts, websites, and networking tools to drive consumers to my door. Great service!. I welcome further suggestions on promoting my store as I have exhausted my knowledge in this area. Thanks!

  53. Jude C. says:

Shouldn’t analytics, of all kinds, really be represented as a ring around the landing pages in this sort of model?
Analytics are not promotional, but they help measure the efficacy of your various promotional tactics. To that end, shouldn’t conversion optimization really be the goal of proper analytics observation and response? In a model like this one, that would mean that the ring of analytics should consequently increase or decrease (in terms of investment/slice of mktg budget) the represented slice size/width of each of these tactics as their ROI warrants.
Anyways, just my two cents as a not-so-newbie :)
    -JC

    • Oli Gardner says:

I see where you’re coming from, but in this instance, the circle at the top represents a series of tasks that are somewhat independent of one of another (things you need to do in order to gain some ground in a specific area of marketing).

Sure, analytics and CRO oversee them from one point of view, but not not when you’re trying to separate them as disciplines.

You could break it up into many different tracks. My thinking as that you can approach it in a functional way (often based on job role) or you can take a holistic approach and run it over time, crossing back and forth between disciplines (where you would naturally gain an understanding of their crossovers as you go).

I don’t think I said anywhere that analytics are promotional – but they are a segment of online marketing, and something that you need to learn about and master – hence the inclusion (in a noob guide) as a track all of it’s own.

      • Jude C. says:

Ah, it definitely makes more sense when you classify the whole set as tasks. If you plan on keeping this chart as-is, it might help to mention that in the titling somewhere. Alternatively, if you ever feel like updating this chart in the future, noobs would certainly benefit from understanding how its fundamental concepts interact (the tactics : analytics/metrics : optimization of the tactics), which seems easy enough to do.
Hope you’re having a good afternoon, Oli.
